I specifically mention Spring Boot not Spring. Spring Boot uses Tomcat by default, a web application server. Using other parts of the Spring framework however like the DI sure, but it isn't fast.

Interesting use of Spring Boot. That's more suited for web applications than "game servers".

It does need a lot of work feature wise sure, anyhow its not hard to make a stable emulator that holds thousands of players using Java. There are so many libraries written in Java so you don't have to do hardly any work.

Some of this code includes my optimisations for it to be able to handle such a large amount of users. The Pathfinder is entirely mine but it is freely open sourced anyway in my Mango server. You also need to do some optimisations in the database if you want to host a lot of users with this.

They are also not loaded into the "users memory".
