hey... can i ask for ur help.. i unpacked the pck files with spck(downloaded from here) after some modifications (texts) when i pack it back, its size get reduced to almost 1/4 of original, & it creates a connection problem, what should i do,

i need some help installing my own server, i'm a system engineer but my experince is with microsoft products, small experince with Linux. i faced a number of problems and would appriciate your help.

I can't reply in your very well written jade dynasty tutorial thread, I was gonna ask if you could re-up the JD.tar.gz. I'm having minor issues with mine, I dunno what they were thinking when they set up that virtual image, but...ugh the SQl is...anyway, I got off track.

I would really appreciate it if I could possibly get that tarball from you in some way shape or form. I tried to PM you my email, but I don't have enough posts >.>

The main thing I need is the database so I can host the db myself. For some reason this client is set up to reach out to a foreign IP and connect to who knows who's db, and I'm not too keen on that. I did get it running, and connected to it on the account already on it, but I have no way to create a new user remotely OR locally, so it's useless, and it has to do with the fact that mysql commands don't respond on the vmware image, hence no users can be configured to allow access from localhost WITH pass.

Everything seems to be ok as far as the server being seen on my client, but when I try to actually connect by entering my id/pw it gives me the System Network Error message. Im going to be working on it this morning while I have some free time to hopefully get it worked out myself by trial and error.

Well I got winscp working again with an update of the software lol, *facepalm*

Now when I try to connect to the server its giving me the "Network Error" message and Im kind of lost in trying to debug it and fix it.

Any tips ?

I tried that and it still isnt connecting, but then again my server isnt showing up on my client either, Im so lost and the guy who was helping me has gone MIA the past few days.

Try connecting winscp to my external ip with what port ?
I cant do anything until I can access winscp and my database's, at least thats what I heard.

I have some questions about my jd server and you seem to be very knowledgeable on it.

Right now im having trouble connecting winscp to anything , it was localhosted and worked fine , then they tried to change it toto public access and it got messed up and we cant figure out how to fix it.

It's an amazing game. However, at the moment it is poorly managed by it's current USA staff. Even if you don't fancy the game, you should try to make a p. server out of it just for the sake of the cash. :) http://hero.netgame.com/

Hello, you really should consider developing a Hero Online private server. There are people that are willing to pay handsomely for a server, myself included. It would mean a lot to myself and other folks for sure.
