is VIP free or obtainable in other ways in game other than paying?

Edit: Can't seem to connect. Is VPN required to play the server?

Edit2: VPN is required. There seems to be no way to get VIP unless you donate, which means you can't gather resources on the server to craft. Good luck to any non-donator unless there is a way to earn VIP without paying.
