First has amazing depth
Maybe make the lightsource a bit more noticeable since its B&W

For the black and white one before the gradient map layer put a layer of bright red and lower the opacity to about 5% you should get more depth from that.

The second needs more in the bg and the focal stand out to much colors and compo are great.
