It would seem Viacom, Fox, Paramount and Lionsgate are sending Google fake DMCA take down notices to Google, and Google is censoring links to the documentary The Pirate Bay: Away From Keyboard. These movie companies claiming copyright infringement on a movie that they own no rights to and Google is bowing down to their requests and obviously censoring links from crawl bots.

Even after an to these companies and Google about said censorship it still continues to this day. Google states they are working on the situation and attempting to fix the problem; "We (Google) are doing our best to catch errors or abuse so we don't mistakenly disable access to non-infringing material."

The movie companies have pretty much protected themselves from respite for these fake DMCA notices under the "Error's aren't actionable" clause (Rossi v MPAA, 91 F.3d 1000 (9th Cir. 2004) meaning you can claim copyright infringement on pretty much anything as long as it's a "mistake" if a counter-notice is made.

This is just one more step towards a corporation run government and censorship program we are heading to in the future, not to mention a worldwide censorship based on bylaws and rules set by USA being forced upon other countries.

How far does it have to go before it ends?

Much better!

And poor show Google, and poor show the American courts! Shouldn't be allowed to make DMCA "mistakes" and cause content to be temporarily removed, could argue loss of revenue (if any is generated)

No matter what the Government does or how hard it tries it will never completely get rid of pirating. They can block all the pirating websites they want but either the same ones will come back or other ones will in their place.

If anything artists of media should be happy their work is pirated, it gives them more attention. For instance if a movie was not hosted for free online, the entire viewing audience that would have been 'pirates' would disappear.
