Check my "Why Can't I Connect my Client to My Server" guide if you are in any doubt as to the port(s) of you server and client.

If you know that, but don't know how to operate your Router / Firewall... we may need more information, as each one is different.

If you're trying to open your port to online, you have to go into your router and open it from there. Unless you are referring to the server connection port, then that's a different story. However if you are indeed referring to the port that connects people online, then that needs to be open through your router admin panel.
