Hai there!

Personally I am invested into the Warcraft 3 Editor and I've always had this desire to get the 'Headcutter' model from Priston Tale, with all its functioning animations, to be used inside that sandbox. There are already tons of game rips that are used within the Warcraft 3 editor for anyone that's unfamiliar with it. Now the issue is is that I am completely clueless how this all works and I need to start somewhere - so here I am asking aid from the experienced.

Now I've did some digging on this website and got the files I need. However, I have no idea with what program I can open this model with along with the animations. So far I can only open the Textures but I'm clueless with the Ini, ASE and SMB files.

If anyone is willing to escort me through this process, then I would be grateful.

*.smd = Encrypted model file
*.smb = Encrypted bone Animatons
*.inx = Encrypted keyframe animation setting
*.ini = Unencrypted keyframe animation setting
*.ase = Unencrypted model format with model and bone animation

You just want the .ase file for headcutter available in the 2012 source.
Import that into 3ds Max using sandurr's or telatoros ase importer plugin, then export the model in a format supported by your warcraft 3 editor.

Thank you for showing the clear steps to take. I have a question regarding 3ds Max though, I've searched for the program but I'm greeted by a very expensive price tag in order to use it for a single conversion. Is there like a free version for this that I can use?

I've managed to make it work. Now to just convert in properly. Thank you.

Edit: The skeleton and the model seems to be separated in the ASE file. Is this normal? At least, when I try to play its motions, it only moves the bones but not the model.

The silly thing is that the Headcutter has its animation in a separate file without the model. I have to load the animation from it into the file where both bones and model are present. Basically the file you show in your video but for the Headcutter, no animation is present.

Currently I'm having some skinning issues which i am trying to solve especially with the weapon. I notice your weapon isn't displayed on the Hobogoblin for that very same reason? It freaks out if I leave it there.

Edit: So after much fighting with this program, I managed to get the animations linked with the model. I'm pretty much settled now. Thanks for the guidance.
