Some school that specialises with Autisitc children (in Dundee aswell, I think) has offered her help. Lemme check the Daily Record site for it..

I never found the article in today's paper but I have another one.

Read it, it says Angus Council have tried to force this girl into a school that doesn't offer as good care as another one in Clackmannanshire.

even if I tried to punch and hit my head on things I can't help stopping because of the pain. Like holy crap she broke her own nose. I couldn't do that.

It's probably a similar motivation to those people who cut themselves (not talking about fackwits who do it to be 'cool') - the idea is to 'externalise' inner pain, because external pain like a cut (or even a broken nose) is more 'real', it is easier to put up with and doesn't last as long (usually) as emotional pain. I have Asperger's, which is on the autistic spectrum and affects my ability to communicate (especially about personal things) face-to-face, but I've only once (that I can remember) banged my head on a wall because of things like that... it was strange, I knew what I was doing and it was kind of an experiment really... It didn't feel like pain, it was like a warm tingly feeling that spread from that point... It was like the feeling of sitting in front of a heater or fire when you've just been out in the cold and it makes you feel all cosy and goose-bumpy... I don't know for sure but I think it's what it would feel like if you were being tortured for days and days, then the torture was taken away... the 'non-pain' would feel like that warm and tingly thing that I felt.

It's obviously hard to explain.

On another note... It might sound cruel to some (and a bit dumb considering my own position lol), but if it wasn't for the fact that many ASD sufferers have a higher-than-average IQ, and include like 80% of the world's geniuses (present AND past, if you accept some studies), I'd say terminate them all and clean up the gene pool.... Of course that'd only be acceptable if you got rid of all the other mental defectives out there... uh-oh I'm slipping into eugenics again

Probably one of the saddest stories ive heard in a while. I read further into this with some other articles and the doctors said that she has this pain somewhere in her head which is so painful that she beats herself to create pian somewhere else to distract her mind and stop it from focusing on the first pain. Plus the child will probably not survive unless the problem is discovered soon since the chances of her fatally injuring herself when her mother is not holding her down are tragically high. And to top it off, the mother and girl are fighting this battle alone since the woman is single.

Lol, thats not right. :p

This is no matter in which you would laugh out loud.... -.-

well I thought autism people had to wear protection so they cant hurt themselves, I work with some kids like this, and they wear helmets and padding, its weird.

@DarC

You have ASD/Aspergers too? I'm not alone now!

@ I Rule Mu

This 'pain in another part of her body' seems very logical. It might be another pain in her head from maybe some emotional trauma, or maybe a nightmare that won't go away so she has to 'hit it out' of her head.

Lulz join the club, I look sane enough aswell.Yet I still get my allowances. The Australian Government not doing you any good?

On Topic: Read the second article on the main page, it has some interesting detals about what Angus Council is trying to do for the girl.

Nah if you earn more than like 200 bucks a week they reckon you're well-off enough to not need help. Something like that. And rent these days is that much, before you even get to food or transport.

This kid is the kind of case that would have been burnt at the stake (and probably her mother as well, for having scandalous nighttime sex with the devil and producing such an abomination) a coupla hundred years ago.

It is customary, on the interwebs, to accompany such a request with pictorial augmentation. Allow me.

On Topic... My theory on severe autism is, those people think they're being normal, responding normally to things, and everyone else is the freak... Since I feel like that sometimes with social things, some ways people interact are so goddamn inefficient and unclear, but it's what 'normal' people are used to, and use it to make them comfortable... okay it's hard to explain
