Private Trying to access private server from sea region

Hello apparently I am a sea region player and of course I am tired of how they monetize it. So I have decided to retire from sea and try out some private servers. Unfortunately I have my eyes on some of it but most of them only support GMS.

Question: do I need VPN to launch gms so that it connects to private server? Or is there anyway I can launch the private server?

but basically no you don't need a vpn it'll just work.
