Snipping Tool comes with Windows to take screens, and to film use CamStudio.

fraps for screens and ingame movies. for movie desktop i don't do it since i cant put my fraps working to screen movie. u.u

Fraps for most games. It has screenshot capabilities aswell. Else I use the steam inbuilt screenie tool.

CamStudio sucks, Use FRAPS.
