Can't really shove electric cars down peoples' throats though regardless of what your opinions are. A lot of areas are just not suited for that kind of technology. As it stands here in the US, you have to go really far out of your way to get a charge for electric cars. In rural areas, these charging stations do not even exist. It is highly inconvenient and very impractical for most of the population at this point in time.

Not to mention, the pollution from from the manufacturing process for hybrid and electric cars cause more damage to the environment than regular cars. There are a lot of industries which cause far more pollution than today's cars which can be changed without forcing the majority of the population to make drastic changes such as adapting to an electric car commute.
