A weird question

i have a weird question but i hope you can help

If i call a taxi firm and ask for a driver to take me from A to B

If a random person calls the taxi firm and asks if any taxi's have gone to address A would the taxi firm give this informaiton out or is it treated as confidential?

You could call and ask if any taxis have been dispatched to point A and ask where it is dropping off I guess it's not a problem. If the operator asks why you want to know, just say you're double checking a booking for a friend.

I mean if some random called about my travel arrangements

for example they ask if a taxi has gone from point A - and also ask for where its going to

That's what I'm saying, that person could call the taxi office and ask if a taxi was sent to your address and that person could ask to confirm the destination. I guess if it was someone you didn't know then it would be pretty weird, but if it's something you're concerned about I don't see any problem in it.

i guess it depends what taxi company you used.
some dont bother with confidential information, others do.

Oh, in that case I guess you could ring up the office and ask them not to disclose any information about your taxi hire
