The pro-life arguement will nvr go away, but nor will it overthrow pro-choice until there is another way to tackle unwanted pregnancy. All i can say to that is "Thank goodness!".

Not only ppls lives can be ruined (depression, suicide even, etc etc), yiou can have bad parenting (think about drug addict mum in the film trainspotting. Baby dies from neglect), or babies given up for adoption (leading to yet more unwanted babies sitting in hospitals and then growing up in care. I dont see the 'pro-life' ppl doing anything to help babies AFTER they are born..bloody hypocrites), nations resources would be heavily compromised (when it already is in most countries anyway). Taxes would need to go up higher to cover the costs of childcare, childrens homes, etc, the pro-life ppl would be quick to complain about that im sure. Some countries cannot even afford to deal with costs as is.

Pro-life ppl are quick to show dramatic propaganda for their weak reasons against abortion, but offer no solution to the problems occured when a woman decides to go through with the pregnancy. Often these ppl are the first to tsk and berate a single mother infact. Pro-life stand up and preach to the world, but dont want to get their hands dirty with helping the after care of children born.

I really cant stand pro-life activists, they make me sick...sorry. Their arguments are weak. Id have more respect if they actually offered solutions and did something other than make nasty little videos and preach preach preach.

I'm an 18 yr. old Ohio'an with no job, no money & no power (And I'm pretty sure I don't have a cure for aids).
I can't do a damn thing.

JSSnahoG, really, don't try to make me look like the bad person here, my opinion on abortion is very clear, but it's not my only opinion on current politics.
I simply didn't mention the others because this thread happens to be about abortion, not Africa (Or anything else).

I think I'll re-state my opinion a little more...polite, & apologize for the previous post (The "pro-life" people were really pissing me off).

I understand that some people will be facing death if they have children, or they can't affourd them, are a drug attict, mentally disturbed, etc.
But killing is NEVER the answer.
It was never about the baby feeling pain, or him/her knowing they were being killed, it's about valuing life.
Abortion, in my eyes, is legalized murder, which is immoral in every aspect & absolutely disgusting.
The birth of a baby doesn't mark it's recognition into humanity, the very second the baby is conceived, another human starts to develop & grow & learn & feel.
Birth isn't the magical gateway into life, that IS a human life in the mother's stomache.

Abortion is murder, murder is wrong.
No one should have the choice to commit murder and get away with it.
And that's exactly that abortion is; getting away with murder.

That's a load of crap and you know it, why not start by selling that computer, that should get you enough money for a family in africa to live a year from, or what about going door to door to get donations etc, you can always doing something, now i admit that i don't care enough to give up my time or my stuff for those people, but you obviously do take the moral highground, yet you don't do anything, there is lots of things you can do, but you rather not do it, it's just that simple, we humans are cruel, we let thousands of people die everyday so that we can afford more stuff, America spends 2 billion a day on this freaking war, and many other countries spend a lot of cash on it aswell, do you have any idea how many people could be helped with it? Millions of animals die a year, so that we can eat meat. And then you guys take the moral highground on abortions.

You are like those people who protest and throw paint over people wearing fur and stuff, whining about how animals are killed for their skin, and yet when they come home at night they will be eating meat and wear leather shoes and all.

I got a lot of respect for people who do what they can to help out people, who donate all their time and money to them, who do everything to make the world how it should be, but the people who just complain while having the chance to actually help people should stfu, because you can't complain or take a moralhighground on anything, untill you actually do everything you can to preserve life.

Ive never understood ppl that see things only in a linear way. Nothing is always so black and white.

Btw, abotion will not stop. If it became illegal it would not stop. It would just incourage back-street abortions and terrible self mutilating abortions. THe fact it is legal means that at least it is done correctly. You dont know the situations ppl find themselves where they make this decision. Most of you have never faced that situation. YOu tell me if you wife got raped and crying her heart out because she is pregnant and cant deal with it all that ud say keep it. If you took this 'keep the child under all costs' attitude with her, the distress could mean you could lose your wife (stress on the relationship) or possibly much worse..that u lose ur wife and unborn child because it all got too much for her(think u know what im saying here). AND worse of all is pro-life men, these are the guys that can (AND DO) walk away from responsibilities. This happens. Its raw, its real. Its not just something u can sit back and talk about when you really havent faced the grit of a situation.

Abortions are there as a choice for those who have nowhere else to turn. If in the early stages of the pregnancy, the mother was told that going to term with her child would endanger her life, is she entitled to an abortion? Or if your wife was on her way home from work when she's dragged into an alley and raped by a man, who you find out made her pregnant? What would you do in a situation like that? Not only was the rape in itself traumatic enough, but now she has to be seriously inconvenienced for 10 months, take leave off work, and go through labor, which I'm sure will end up costing most of you money unless you have a good amount of insurance.

Now where else can you turn at this point? Raise the child of the rapist as your own, and see him/her as a constant reminder of what happened to your wife, (and trust me, it would be much worse for your wife) or put the child into the already overcrowded foster care institution? So what kind of life would these children most likely be living if they were indeed brought into a household that considered them an unwanted inconvenience? Most likely a life of abuse, trouble with law enforcement, and incarceration at some point in their lives.

And for those of you who are "pro-life" you have no middle ground here. You can't be against some abortion, but for other forms of abortion. If you're "pro-life" you want every baby brought to term no matter what the circumstances. Victims of incest and rape, 14 year olds, 35 year olds who already have 7 children and live off welfare, mothers who have a high probability of dying as a result. As a member of the "pro-life" crowd, you believe you cannot sacrifice any life for that of another. If you believe abortions should be allowed in certain circumstances, you become a hypocrite.

Everything on this earth revolves around a circle of life. People eating animals is not cruel, it is a part of this circal. If we did not eat animals, then what would happen? Well, the earth would be overpopulated with animals, they would eventually eat up all of their resources, being the plants, and die out, leaving us to die out. About abortions, you have no say in what a mother wants to do about a birth. If they feel like they are not ready to bring a child onto the earth, by all means, let them have an abortion. Do you think that having a child, and raising it when you are 16 years old is good? Do you think that ruining two lives is good? Well its not. You might be thinking that you could just give the baby up for adoption. Let me ask you this, do you think that growing up in a foster home, where people only want you for an extra source of income is good? Often foster life is filled with abuse, mal-nutrition and other horrible experiences for a child. Many children that come out of foster homes lead crime filled lives. Is this the kind of life you want to give someone?
