    Alcohol Flush Reaction

I have it. I noticed i had it ever since i was 14, my first alcohol consumption. now i had reached the actual legal age for my country and as a frequent social drinker, its always really embarrassing me. i'm not really drank, i'm awake, my mind is awake and i'm still able to concentrate stuff, but my cheeks goes extreme red. my skin is light as a chinese, but after a few sip, i goes so red till i'm like a dark muslim ( light brown )

from google, it says i'm lacking certain enzyme to digest alcohol and theres no actual medical cure but reducing it with drugs for it blah blah. but does anyone have any idea how to reduce these without consumption of medicine or whatever expensive methods, like a natural method?
i heard rumors that it goes away if i drink more frequently, as these build-up my liver to drop the deficiency concentration of certain enzyme, does this worked for anyone?

i had no intention of curing it completely, i noe now i must live with it.. i just want to be more prone to it (2 330ml cans will do), i got this symptoms of getting my face to neck completely red after a few sip of light-beer currently. this stay for 2-3 hours depending on how active i am during these period. example if i just sit still and went on the internet and read stuff, it disappear as soon as an hour, but if i went for a walk, it goes worse and stay like permanently, and worse if i went for street soccer, i vomit after a 30mins game.

i'm only 18, i started drinking regularly only this year, and its real sad i still can't enjoy beer properly without all the embarrassment. (everyone will comment about my cheek whenever i drink =| )

i know ppl will suggest me to simply just quit alcohol, but im not even a heavy drinker, i drinks at most twice of thrice monthly, and its usually for social interaction,

    Try wine/mixers instead?

Getting drunk isn't work risking your health over. And don't trust the internet, go see a real doctor. Frankly when it comes to your personal health it's not worth risking it on bogus diagnosis from random internet strangers who don't actually care.

You're allergic to the alcohol, it's genetic so you can't do anything about it. It's not "bad" or anything, just as you say embarrassing.

Same thing runs in my family, lucky for me I don't have it.

Allergy to Alcohol is very unlikely, though not completely impossible. Chances are you are allergic to other stuff in alcoholic drinks.

You should try drinking other alcoholic stuff and see if the same thing happens.

You mention that people comment about your cheeks when you drink, though you should never really care for what people think of you if its a condition you cannot help. If people ask questions about why your cheeks are red, just simply tell them the truth that you get flushes when you drink.

Also, when you do drink a bit and go play your sport games you have to consider that blood rushes throughout your body in order to keep up with all your activity which means that blood with pass your cheeks making them all red again like it would do in any part of your body after playing 90 minutes or so of football(soccer).

A bit on wikipedia mentions how you can mitigate the effect.

But like said before, don't always believe the internet, go see a real doctor for advice on the situation.

Google is your friend, but the DOCTOR is your medical friend, so try that first before dropping the final conclusions.

It's normal to a drinker since 14 yrs old lol. Why drink? Just stop or you will reduce days of your life in every drink.
    Smoke some weed. :P
