whoa there... YOUR router doesnt allow it? Why not change it then? And why would your router block outgoing traffic? The DCC protocol works like this:Originally Posted by -=MR=-
You send a msg to the one with the file like /CTCP [XDCC]Hybrid XDCC Send #1 or something like that depending on what xdcc server the bot is using.. After that he sends you a little package asking YOU to connect to HIM.. And thereby initiating a connection and after that sends you the file.. So the actual connect is from the one that is suppose to be retrieving the file.. Not the one sending it.. The same way goes for DCC Chat or any other such method.. Ever wondered why being behind a router makes you unable to send files using DCC? ^_^
Kinda silly way to do it but on the other hand.. it helps in some situations and since internet isnt really meant to be built with NAT routers at ALL so from specs it's kinda good way to handle it.. But all that will change when ipv6 is released ^_^ Im deff gonna get me an entire /24 JUST for little old me ^_^

no idea what you're talking about, when i click to connect it just doesent and when i asked about it they said its my routerOriginally Posted by Ether_Man
Click to connect? You mean accepting a dcc chat? Then it's a fileserver and not XDCC but even so it's still the same ports and all.. And it's not your router.. if they initiate the chat then it's you trying to connect to them and thus their router that's having trouble.. Not yours.. Try changing the allowed ports in your irc client and forward those ports to your comp.. If it still don't work then you know for sure the problem is not on your side..
ok ok, i'll try to make it clearer.I try to do the connection, on a IRC bot. I type a command like /xdcc and some other crap, and i get a message saying connection timed out.Either way, if i have to do something with ports i dont wanna do it, i hate routers and i hate ports
Umm... XDCC isnt a command in any irc client I know of :/ Neither is it you that tries to chat with the bot.. You send a normal irc text requesting that the bot chat with you.. But nvm.. If you dont want to configure the router for it it's kinda pointless anyway if it had been your router that's messing ^_^
on about five or six servers i've gone too to get anime, there is this command.Im not sure if its xdcc but its a command
*searching to find*
AH! i remembered, its /ctcp blablabla xdcc send #1 :)

since when r Akira and Ghost in the Shell originally english ???Originally Posted by Ether_Man
Ghost in the Shell is originally from "Production I.G" as far as i know still a japanese studio, its been later its been destributed in the US by "Manga Entertainment".
Akira is created by a team cooperation from both "Toho" and "Tokyo Movie Shinsha", where it was noticed and distributed in the US by "Streamline Pictures".
both of them are in my collection as fansubs
sorry ... but i dont like being projected as someone who doesnt kno what she s talking about
The only thing i ever saw english dubbed is "Rurouni Kenshin" , which was on TV here in belgium under the name "Samurai X". Ever since i got my hands on the japanese version, i ve sworn to keep watching fansubs. I ve got 2 episodes from "Shin Seiki Evangelion" english dubbed and they suck bigtime...
Although its just a matter of taste though :) ...

The eng audio isnt a dub of the jap audio.. But neither is the jap sound a dub of the eng.. They are both made completely from scratch and directly from the makers.. And also.. Perhaps you really should stop using animenfo as a source for information.. Animenfos database is mainly maintained by it's users and is really not very reliable.. and Akira is btw made by Bandai, Dragon, Nakamura and Tokyo Movie Shinsha.. oh.. and the Akira Committee Company.. And the same thing here as with GitS.. They have original languages in both english and jap so neither is really the original.. and at the same time, both of them are..
Get your facts straight before discussing something.. Or are you just one of those that just HAVE to have it in japanese cz "it just aint anime if it aint japanese" type of otaku?
