There is always gravity but it is weaker the farther away you are, even if you were at the other end of the galaxy, the earths gravity would still affect you but it would be un-noticable.

well if it ever does work, it will be like the first ever engine, hell first ever wheel, as time goes on and more scientists (with there heads down in shame) will start working on them=faster progress =D

personly i want them to find out how to make antimater faster, or find a good source, then or energy problems will be over, and space travel will be possible

some russian scientist actually said he build an anti gravity device..

well maybe he drank something or he really did it..

but thing is that this kind of thing will help more in 34rth, not outer space.

very interesting reading :). The anti gravity device sounds allot further off than matter - antimatter engines tho. If we could create a device that could generate antimatter particles at a much faster rate than now then in theory we could create matter - antimatter engines. Storing the antimatter is done by magnetic feilds... Only thing that seems a little hard to do is control the explosion of the matter - antimatter. It would obliterate all matter around it n make a BIG FACKING LOUD BANG!. Also how would you release a certain amount of anti matter at a time... 2 much and again... big explosion.
