Anyone in California throwing a party next few weeks?

So here's the deal: I'm going on vacation to the USA next week. Will be the first time on the continent for me, so I'm really looking forward to this! Anyway, me and a friend plan to take a car and drive around for 3 weeks, see stuff, do stuff, generally get wasted and have fun, I think you can all imagine ;)

Now ofcourse I'm not from around there and internet only tells you so much, so I was wondering if any of you happens to know cool things I MUST see or do when there. Stuff along the lines of party's, concerts, festivals, the usual :D

As ar plans are now I'll arive in San Francisco, then head for Redding and from there drive west to the ocean. After that probably LA and / or LV, then on trough the rocky mountains back to SF. I know very little about that area, but I take it anyone from around there probably knows when we'll be around where ;)

hmm you want culture shock go to NYC :p I may not live there but's it's hella cooler than lame-ass georgia. Of course I guess that's the reason why the county I live in it's like the 3 or 4th fastest growing county in the US ¬¬;

California aye? Well.....I have this book called 1000 things to do in California.

Lets see...

The Zoo(remodeled two years ago, it looks GREAT)

Disney Land(ummm...yah whatever)

Ripleys(it's a family thing..)

Wax Museum(oh wait..they closed it down and sold everything, good thing I got to it last year)

Beaches(you really only want to go to beaches in Southern California, it's the best)

San Diego(basically the best city in California IMHO)

Sea World(what I said about Disney Land...you can watch the giant killer whale eat some penguins though..not)

Coronado(did I spell that right? It's a beautiful island connected by a bridge in San Diego. The bridge has tons of C4 strapped to it incase of a hostile take-over. Coronado houses some very dangerous things incase the Western Coast falls into any troubling hands).

Brunch(great places to have brunch at in San Diego)

Those generators(the wind powered generators you can see if you want)

Gnotsberry Farm(the FIRST American Amusement park; has a huge rollercoaster at the front and plenty of other things. If you like Snoopy you will like it. Also has some great blackberry jam).

You can look at a lot of houses places precariously on the infamous mudslide valley. The valley had a mudslide that devastated homes and I believe killed a few people. These people are complete idiots because they dont understand what erosion is.

You can also look at a bunch of houses that you can only HOPE to own one day. Maybe if you visit in 6 years you can see me.

Tons of other things to do in California. The best place is San Diego though.


PS: It's a huge waste to get drunk and have hangovers if you are vacationing in California. No one likes some drunk freak ruining their fun. And you wont like wasting two days of your vacation even if you're there for 3 weeks. You said you were going to drive around and do stuff though, so dont expect to be in San Diego the whole time I guess.

@Person going to florida...have fun. And if you're going to Disney World tell me how you liked the Tower of Terror(went two years ago for a cruise; rode this with my brother's kids and I freaked out).

Thanks for the tips all of you and especially Sadden99 :D Looks like San Diego is really worth a visit, think we'll head over there if its somewhat on our route :D

Ow, and don't worry about me being drunk and missing out, I -never- forget stuff when I'm drunk and most of the time am actually pretty reasonable still. It helps a lot when you are allowed to drink from age 16 up instead of 21, means I already have 5 years of experience so I know when to stop ;) Few beers now and again prolly won't take away much of the fun though :D

Aznzero: erm, we have a sixflags in Holland actually, I don't think I'll be flying halfway across the world just to see a theme park I can see an hour drive from here :D And I'll go first to Redding which is 200 miles or so north of Sacramento I think, so only a few hours drive, beware, I might just visit your hometown for a bit :icon6:
