Hmmm confused :confused: , I have adsl atm (576kbps) and it says I could have the 1-2mb connection but I can't make out how much it will all cost me to do so, I would like a 1-2mb line if it wasn't going to cost to much.

thats a BT site, will telewest do it also as I am currently on telewest broadband and my fone line is also telewest so i doubt i'll b changing my ISP :(

its not bt's fault its the governments they kept the phone services as a pulic sector company for WATYYYYYYYYYYY to long which resulted in us falling behind its acctually thanx to bt becoming a plc that broadband is now becoming more widely available and also that there is now competition in the market

well 50:1 is 50 ppl on 1 exchange and 20:1 is 20 ppl on 1 exchange :p

its contention and is the max number of people contending with you for bandwidth the more are online the less likely you are to get higher download rates as more people are using your line to the exchange

yes it is. u have up to 50 ppl on the exchange :p but yes the more ppl the slower it is.

no its not your whole city/town/village will run off 1-2 exchanges THOUSANDS of ppl are connected to a exchange not just 50 its 50 ppl on your line to that exchange and at current there arnt enought people in the uk to cause contention problems any way so dont bother worrying
