Violence is the way, son.
Good luck.
I tried Judo once.
And now I have physiotherapy. :|
Somebody slammed my knee against the floor for no reason.
Yeah, seriously.
I have weak muscles around my knee now, so I'm not aloud to do sports like Rowing or Football.
Hopefully they'll be better again for about 2010. :|
^^ Wow, That sucks, hopefully you will ;p
Well that's a fairly stupid reason for wanting to take up a martial art. If you're going to do it then at least do it for sporting purposes or as a hobby. You won't get anywhere doing martial arts just to beat up someone.
Those fancy martial arts wont help shit if you ain't got the balls to hit them in the face. I laugh inside everytime I see people thinking they'll win fights because they know some obscure variant of kung fu, or because they do good with weights. Nevertheless, some basic skills are essential for fighting. But a fight isn't primarily about the skills.
Today martial arts are less about fighting and more about training, possibly self-defense. Tai Chi and Krav Maga seems to be good for fighting. Krav Maga is too deadly though. If you want to kill someone you shoot them with a gun. I would probably go with Tai Chi.
Karate or anything of that sort should not be used in the wrong hands, you in this case would be one. It's used when you need it. Don't abuse it. You won't be very successful maintaining it.

Black belt in Karate and 2nd Dan black belt in Muay Thai has taught me only self discipline and respect for myself and others. Never once have i needed to use it to intimidate or cause harm to people. Idiots like you ruin the entire sport and the whole reason behind it. Don't do it cos you want to "beat up people" or cos you have "nothing better to do". You should be doing it because you lack something within your life or within yourself which you feel Martial Arts will help you to fill.
He was sarcastic about the 'beat up people' thing. but you do have a point with the 'nothing better to do' thing. You should do it if you really want to, and like what Rishwin said.
Martial Arts is technically supposed to be used to develop skills to defend yourself, not kick other people's asses. I also look at it as a great work out and way to develop your self-discipline. In my opinion that's how one should go into learning martial arts, because then you can truly learn well and improve your body. But if that's how you want to do it then good luck, you aren't gonna get what you are supposed to out of it.
Rofl, I tend to skim aka skip posts sometimes :p Still i wanted to get that off my mind anyway, whether you were sarcastic or not so even other people could read it if they were thinking about martial arts as a weapon.
