$109 is quite a lot for something that is free.
Photoshop is good because it can do a lot more, however it isn't needed for make a banner.
Most people that act all cool with Photoshop don't use a thing of the program that Paint Shop Pro actually can't do.
Those same people are also most of the time bragging about a product that they downloaded, which brings me to the point, why brag?
I got PS somewhere on a CD, i can't be bothered with it, there isn't a single feature that i need to make banners or whatever i use to make things, so why use it?
Besides PSP works easier.
Oh and PSP certainly isn't a bad program, it's rated as second best on the market, which ofcourse PS leads, however it is rated more user friendly, and way cheaper.
So unless you really do stuff at professional level then don't bother about PS.

i use PS for more than sigs but PSP is alot easier to use i guess.
Yeah number one.... ArchAngle, CHANGE THE SIZE OF YOUR SIGGY!!!! It's way to big!. Use the size of my siggy as a template for how big it should be.

I dont want to argue with you gohan. Theres no point as you never give in anyway. I dont use photoshop for makeing siggys. I use it for web design and i do use allot of the functions that paintshop pro doesent have. I said industry standard in terms of any kind of graphic design in a work place. And thats what i do. I dont see any point in re-teaching myself the old paint shop pro interface when i already know allot of the shortcuts in photoshop and am so used to it anyway.
Also i said it was free when..... i dunno about over there but you can get the full paint shop pro program with CD-R spindals
There is no discussion needed really, like i said, if you just do normal graphics stuff then PSP does the job just aswell, also PSP has a better user friendly rating then PS.
However if you need to do more then that, like you, then PS is the choice for sure, it's not that hard to read. ;)
Anyway check the jasc site, it has it listed for $109
Maybe what you have seen is the old version, as not so long ago PSP8 came out.
