Lmao, nah he was a HUGE troll on this forum several years ago, he made up stories about being in iraq and then being hunted by the FBI (claimed they raided his house with weapons drawn and held his family at gunpoint or something lol).

How do you pronounce the name. Dev+in or Dev+on?
Dev +in. Well, still no progress as of yet, at least no visible progress. My mother in law keeps saying December 3rd keeps repeating in her head (The same lady who "knew" we were pregnant with a boy before we knew we were having a child.). We're hoping the doctor on Wednesday will say she's 3-5 cm and send her to the hospital but, till then it's a waiting game :( The waiting game is killing me!!!!!!
bloody hell this must be a bloody nightmare for you!
and what it is like for her?!
cor, i hope when i have kids they just hurry and and get out haha :D
congrats! its gonna be a nightmare and a blessing all at the same time :D
I took me nearly 4 days of labour and miles upon miles of walking to get Lucy out of me so I feel your wife's pain. I hope it is a little quicker for you two. ^^
xXx
congratulations for your baby dude!
Well... still no action yet. I read last night on 4 different "medical" websites that eating pineapples (fresh, not canned) could help it along. So I ran to the grocery store, literally running lmao, and bought 2 of them. Well... that was a load of shit, and there goes $5 that I could have used for something more resourceful hehe. Oh well, she was craving pineapples anyways so it was a nice surprise for her. Anyone have any tips on how to further it along? We've tried the walking, the sex, the pineapples, the spicy food, hell even the nipple stimulation. NOTHINGS WORKING!!!!!!! I guess I'll change the rules to this thread now to, I'll keep it updated if any pains/contractions occur. Until then, I won't post every day with an update so that I'm not "spamming".
Congrats man!
Well, we just got back from our doctor appointment. It seems that despite going on a 3 hour walk today, and a 1 1/2 hour walk the past 6 days, we have made no progress. She is still 1 cm dilated and the cervix is still 50% soft. The only reassurance the doctor could give us was that most people at 38 weeks aren't as far along as she is. My wife seems to be taking it really hard. She's disappointed and I think she might be blaming herself because all of us were hoping she would be 3 cm dilated today. I'm going to go spend time with her and try to make her feel better. That's my update for today. :(
Help her stay strong, mate.
Best of luck to you two.
WOW dude gratz and good luck.
hope everything goes well.
Yes. Doctors say having sex helps progress the labor. We've been having sex more often but it doesn't seem to be doing much. Idk if you've ever experienced it, but it's not the easiest thing in the world to have sex with a pregnant woman lol And I mean that in the nicest way possible.
Yeah and I hopefully don't experience it till after marraige (hopefully not at all because I can't imagine it). I would've thought it would have had some bad side affects with her being already pregnant.
I remember when my sister was pregnant, my brother and law was running here there and everywhere to get her stuff because she wanted to eat everything. Have you been doing that?
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoh yes lol Just a few days ago, I had to run to the grocery store about 10 minutes before they closed (literally run) to get her some fresh pineapples. I have that website to blame because the second she saw the word "pineapple", she HAD to have some. It was even worse considering absolutely none of the employees spoke a word of English. I asked the produce guy if the pineapples were fresh. What does he do? Leads me over to the exit and says "fresh". lolwut? Btw... the exit was on the other side of the store so make sense of that. Another time I had to go get her beef gravy because she desperately wanted a poutine (typo?). Yea.... I'll be glad when this is over lmao. No though. In response to your comment about side effects. The only time sex is bad during pregnancy is if the mother is labeled as "high-risk". A doctor will always let you know if it is unsafe.
Another question. Is your wife scared of the birth? I know in health class, they showed up a statistics video of how a percentage of women are scared of the birth. Something to do with giant baby heads coming out of them.
She's more nervous than afraid. We talk about it almost everyday, to better understand how we both feel about the soon to be day. I think my mother in law described giving birth the best. It's like trying to squeeze a grapefruit through a rubber band the size of a cherry.
Any news mate? :D
No news unfortunately. I've already told a few of my friends that I talk to everyday to come in this thread to let you guys know in case her water breaks or w/e because obviously I won't be able to post it lol. But yea, she's been having the odd contraction, but nothing major to show he's almost here :(
I dont think devon wants to come out.
Dont blame him lol.
I agree. He seriously like fell in love with the inside of my wife (as sick as that sounds). I'm about to get a crochet hook and break the water myself lmao.
Well, still no action. We tried using Castor Oil yesterday, which is supposedly a sure thing (complete BS). She had a tablespoon and it did nothing, not even give her the runs. She took 2 tablespoons about 4 hours ago, so if this doesn't work, then all hope is lost I guess lol. He just doesn't want to come out! I don't blame him though. It's cold as hell the past couple days hehe xD
Try a nice bath and putting either a few drops of clary sage oil or bubble bath containing it. It gave me bad Braxton hicks once so it might help your wife with progressing labour. Some say that if some is massage on the back particularly around the area of the utreus can help too. That would be nice if you can do that for her. ^^
