the olympics has several combat forms, all international revered for longer than wrestling entertainment has been around i guess they are stupid too.
what about all the people who are able to watch and not try to emulate what they see, i guess they dont figure into it either.
you arent watching people fight, you are watching people put on impressive physical displays

Since when has pretending to choke someone whilst smashing them off a mat putting on an impressive physical display? Yeah I guess the whole being able to lift them part is good, but in this example the kid choked his brother whilst imitating WWE. Yes they don't use curtains to do it but the idea of choking someone and hitting them off the floor does put ideas into some people's minds. When my brother was young he used to watch WWF alot and we both though it was real (we were really young at the time), so the ideas some of the things in WWF/WWE puts into kid's minds...

1st of all we cannot be certain the kid got the idea from wrestling but lets assume that was the only influence and they did get it from there
now we have to also assume that the kid thought it was ok to do it so here we have en epic fail from the parents, why the fuck does a 4 year old think it is ok to choke a sibling
as for the impressive physical display look at their bodies for a start, lets see a picture of your body and lets make a comparison and we will see why you know nothing about this, if you want to continue to discussion on wrestling make a new thread, if not lets stay on topic now

Re: Death of two year old being linked to watching Pro Wrestling
Couldn't this be the same with War or Guns in school etc.
A kid see's on TV a kid killing 20 people in school, the kid doesn't go find a gun and start shooting, it's the parent's and/or kids fault not the WWF/WWE etc.

Re: Death of two year old being linked to watching Pro Wrestling
if the WWE wasnt fake in the wrestling and already decided who the winnder was before the match even started, then they wouldent realy be able to come up with much of a story line fast during the show
like when some1 wins a match usualy something happens straight after or one of the wrestlers that got beat would say something, if the match wasnt alreadt decided then nothin ginteresting would happen after the fight and it would be boring
the point some ppl are missing out on still is the fact that its just simply entertainment which thousands of ppl enjoy watching for multiple reasons
think of it like a soap if u want like emmedale for e.g., its all fake and non of what happens there is real

I'm not in the best physical condition compared to what some wrestlers are, but why would you get completely ripped just for some pretend hitting?

I really don't understand you...
How can you not already figure that out for yourself ? Wrestling next to Rugby has got to be one of the most Physically demanding Sports today. So why else do you think they work and sweat blood for a body you can grate cheese on ? Because thats the body and level of fitness thats required to beable to perform in the way they do.
And lastly only because they've got impressive bodies that doesn't mean the only reason they've gained that is for the Job/Sport they do for a living. I train and work out hard each and everyday (except for weekends) but I do it for myself, because I wanna be strong and very fit.
Edit - Forgot to mention, the WWE doesn't encourage anything like this in the homes of its fans. They constantly repeat over and over again NEVER TO TRY THIS AT HOME. And as I mentioned before, its the perants fault for even allowing there little children for watching the show in the first place. Futher more its highly Irresponsible for the mother of those children to leave a 2 and a 4 year old unattended without supervision while she's in the shower.

Re: Death of two year old being linked to watching Pro Wrestling
Sure, blame it on everything, except the parents.

Re: Death of two year old being linked to watching Pro Wrestling
Its not the wwfs fault. I have good parents, and my baby brother was watching dora when he was 4 not wrestling.

Re: Death of two year old being linked to watching Pro Wrestling
Alright, The media makes a big deal about violent games, not as many deaths, Compared to Pro Wreslting, Where there has been many deaths. You dont hear about Pro Wreslting Violence Nearly as much as you hear about Violence in Video Games, I Feel Remorse for the family, but mabey this will show the FCC and Media, whats really a factor. its a State Of Mind. if you ask me the FCC and Media will just blow it off, if they were smart. which the FCC isnt, put the message of violence in Games out there, But focus on the topic at hand. i hear about deaths alot more with Pro Wrestling then video game violence.

Re: Death of two year old being linked to watching Pro Wrestling
The parents will probably end up sueing WWE or some shit (Yes that is how pathetic the world is today)
Its really the parents fault, I doubt WWE is meant to be watched by 4 year old kids with the violence and shit
The parents should of known better

Good parents don't let their children watch some blasphemous TV programs such as Dora the Explorer.

Re: Death of two year old being linked to watching Pro Wrestling
I have two nephews one who is 11 another who is 4, and I go absaloutly fucking spare when I find them playing wrestling and what not because it's basically an accident waiting to happen.
And I completly agree the parents need to becareful about what their children are watching, I remember watching wrestling when I was younger and it was one of my favourite things but I knew it wasn't real. (Around age 10)
There is nothing wrong with it being on telelvision, how ever parents need to take it into their own hands and make sure that their child knows it's not real or just simply not allow them to watch it.
I just feel awful for the childs family.

They were both 4 and 2, the older brother choked out the 2year old. Kids at that age don't know right from wrong at all. The mother even leaving them both unattended while taking a shower is just amazingly stupid.

Re: Death of two year old being linked to watching Pro Wrestling
Obviously the parents fault, no matter how fake or unentertaining (or the respective opposites of these) wrestling. There is no reason to let your children watch that. Would you film a bar fight and let them watch? Makes as much sense.

Re: Death of two year old being linked to watching Pro Wrestling
Its the Parents fault really....
What kind of mother, lets a 2 year old and a 4 year old on there own... O.o
WATCHING Pro Wrestling, Mom = Failure.

Re: Death of two year old being linked to watching Pro Wrestling
someone here said wrestling should be banned, cause they dont have in UK....you dont need wrestling in UK...you got rugby
-
Re: Death of two year old being linked to watching Pro Wrestling
Theres alot of Wrestling clubs in the UK, and I agree that WWE is scripted, but that does not make it fake. UFC is only called mixed martial arts because you have strike with a closed fist, wrestling you cannot. I really hope I do not need to explain that to anyone.
I personally think that if the parents where looking after them it would never have happened. This is one time that social should be involved.
