well, mine talisman is my cross. I didnt really notice anything, but i feel safe with it ;)
Oh well.
I do wear this cross (I am not a Christian) but I fear removing it.
The last 2 times I removed it - disaster struck me.
First time - I got rusticated from college.
Second time - I nearly died.
So I guess I wont be removing it unless I get a better reason than to live. :D

I have one. Been with me since 3. Its an old Greek talisman given to me by my grand father. Its my luck talisman. And if you know me in real then you'll know how lucky I am after all. It has been with me ever since then. I have only taken it out about 5 times to change the strings. Now I got a gold chain with the talisman. So I usually never take it out.
If you believe it does something, it will.
i did have a jade buddha (is it jade?) which was given to me as a baby, sad thing was that i lost it, what a waste of 5 grand...
i dont consider what im wearing now a talisman, but i got a gold chain and a england ring both given to me by my grandma.
i got a few talisman's on wow, they were cursed, i handed them to some random npc in hellfire and got exp/monies
I have a ring on my right finger which I rarely take off since about 8 years old I guess. I would consider that my talisman. It's one of those Calddagh rings, it's a plain silver ring probably
i have a jade buddha necklace.. i've been wearing it for a lonng time.. the only time i took it off was when i was in china... too many thieves there and my parents were afraid someone might steal it lol

I think it's more like a placebo or something... don't really know what it's called, it's not that these things really have a effect but the fact that you think they have changes the way you think.
I think you're way off with your opinion.
a placebo is medication that is made not to work. they use them in medical trials and stuff, u might be thinking of a momento. something that reminds you of something
I have a necklace with a Chinese tiger symbol (year of my birth :P) I wear nearly all the time, but I don't see it as a talisman. I just wear it because it looks cool and the symbol is in some way related to me :)
I think he meant people use their talisman(s) as a sort of 'spiritual' placebo rather than medical. You're right, a placebo is a non-effective substance given to people to give them peace of mind about their illness, and people use their talisman in the same way - giving them peace of mind about their luck/spirit/energy.
i dont believe in any of it, but we have our ways to see things ^^
