I'm near-sighted, got glasses about a month ago (already scratched the fuckers up a bit :( ). But, both my parents wear glasses, so it must run in the family. But I met a kid over the summer, and he said his eyesight was uneven, because he watches TV Kakashi-style, with one eye covered, lol. Ninja's are hardcore!
Well... I've been wearing contacts for about 2 years now and never had a problem with them... plus I think only certain types of contact damage your eye.. like the hard ones that you wear all the time for months at a time.
Also, just going on something Ionic said, you can get Gas Permeable lenses which allow oxygen to pass onto/into the eye. Dunno much else about them tho.
