Where do you get your information from?..."Internet AS WE KNOW IT will come to an end"...get your facts straight.
This whole .w/eyouwant thing is a dumb idea to show off which sites spend a lot of money ...and which don't...another split in the social status...except on the inteNET this time!
Re: Dot-com era brought to an end
I read about that in the Metro news paper while i was on the train :/

Re: Dot-com era brought to an end
This would come in handy for all parents who are trying to block porn websites for their kids. They can just block the whole .xxx suffix and voilla, no porn.

But then there's .porn or whatever suffix that suggests it's a porn site that they need to filter...
Re: Dot-com era brought to an end
mhmh, alfons it wont be that easy, i mean unless the site is completely "18+" they'll make some loophole.
Re: Dot-com era brought to an end
Doubt that much will change, why pay more for a .whatever when you can get a .com for cheaper and be more recognised.
Seriously who actually types in whatever.com in this day and age? It's all down to google to what site I find anyway. If a company wants to spend an extra few grand on a domain that will most likely make them 0% more findable rather than put it all into google ads, so be it.
I do see this as something ISP might limit with their whole new payment structure. No doubt that will either work one way to make everyone stick with .com, or make alternative domains cheaper.
Re: Dot-com era brought to an end
This is so STUPID , they should just keep the basic .org, .com, .net, .co.uk ect.

But unless made compulsary I dont think no porn site will have a suffix that will indiicate that they are a porn site. Then half of their customers from countries where porn aint allowed will be gone for good.
Re: Dot-com era brought to an end
Can you please give us the source of where you got all this from? It'd explain a whole lot.
Re: Dot-com era brought to an end
Imagine how much more visitors we'll get with a ragezone.xxx domain =p
Re: Dot-com era brought to an end
More domains, less security and higher prices, it's hard to decide, if it's good or bad.
