There are 'black sheep' in every community. In this situation, those who use religion (In this case, Islam) as an excuse in order to kill others for a whole different reason are the black sheep. I don't mind those people who are protesting against this video as long as they're not causing any violence because everyone has a right to be heard, to give their own opinions on such matters (Just like everyone else on here are) but it is a whole different situation when violence is involved. It is not right to use a small population of 'black sheep' to portray a whole community. There is a far, far greater population of Muslims that will disagree with this tiny population of black sheep so called Muslims. Also a tiny matter, while reading through this thread I came across a few quotes (apparently from the Quran) some people have posted, to this group of people I'd just like to say that if you're going to post such quotes I suggest that you use proper/correct/valid references.

Not really, they shouldn't even be dignifying the film with a response. This is exactly what the troll wanted to happen.
Pakistan (and Islam in general) needs to grow thicker skin. We live in an age of international communication which isn't really governed by anyone. Protesting against 1 person, who clearly wanted this to happen, does absolutely nothing except tell him it worked.
Imo this just cheapens protests, as does every protest which are about petty crap. No wonder politicians completely ignore the majority of protests these days.

Funny thing is that you never see something like this happen in western civilizations. You never see a ransacking group of angry christians killing innocent bystanders because someone insulted god or jesus. Those people over there are way past the point of using their religion as an excuse for committing mass murder.
I don't think they realize that by protesting like this, they're only making it worse for themselves because it will only trigger more commotion in western countries. If we segregate them, how will they adapt and change to better fit into the world? It's bad enough China etc have huge amounts of censoring imo. Everyone should be free to speak to each other as that is how we learn from each other. I just wish religion (and race, nationality, and everything else) was removed from the internet. It should be truly anonymous imo. But I guess I just long for the internet to go back to what it was when I started using it. Before Social Media infected it!
But then I hate ignorance, I'd rather have the truth no matter the cost. If someone insults me, I'd rather not have it censored, they still did it, so why hide it?

Historically Islam has been a relatively tolerant and peaceful religion and Christianity has been indisputably the most violent and oppressive. But in the last few decades the Middle East has been subject to more or less constant aggression started by the Soviets and continued by the West. It's almost as if extremism comes from socio-political factors rather than anything inherent in Muslims as people.

This paragraph doesn't make much sense , 9/11 was a terrorist attack by Muslims. What the Islamic people are doing over this film is wrong and you can't say it isn't. Hmm, I'm sorry but that Satam Al Suqami passport doesn't look real to me. Passports expire every 10 years for an adult, I'm pretty sure colored photos were out in 1991 (at least) whilst this picture is in black and white. It also looks like it's drawn. Why are you even bringing 9/11 into this? Nobody mentioned conspiracy theories and then you come with this stuff. I think he meant to say the video was released 9/11 2012 and i do personal believe the majority of the muslims acting violently do so due to solicle conditions and local beliefs. Many muslim countries follow not only the religion but also local beliefs. Those who commit rape and acts of violence over other people do so because they are bad people and will use the religion as a shield.
Whats the difference if some man raped a women in a western country and one in the middle east? The middle east man would be equally as bad as any other person who did so but he would use religion as a shield.
There is so many things that are set as guide lines within the religion that are not followed. In the same town i live maybe 10 minutes from my house a Pakistani family was convicted for life because they killed their daughter in law when she was 6 months pregnant. Corruption and greed resides within the religion and true peace will not come about with such people leading countries into chaos.

You can see quite clearly from that pretty much all religions are made for poor people.
This is true in most religions from what I can see. It's like Christianity, Jesus was supposedly from a poor family that used to be treated as second-class citizens, and then everything change once God gave Mary baby Jesus, in the virginal conception and then later the virginal birth (otherwise known as the immaculate conception). The same with the disciples/apostles, the vast majority of them as they were chose were second-class citizens.

As for as I'm aware this has all but stopped in most of southern Africa as western governments/missionary went in to try educate them. It was more of a lack of understanding, and they were mostly open to change. Iirc they had a belief that raping a virgin cured aids, so it got pretty messed up for a long time.
But that wasn't a cultural thing, it was a false understanding of medicine, which hopefully you can appreciate, that we were largely able to stop. Technically it was a belief system, but one that didn't rely on deities, so easily proven false.
As for the rant about having polygamy relationships, that is a cultural thing, that religion has played a huge part in. Why is monogamy the right way? Because a religion says so. Frankly I'd prefer we explore their way, than try force monogamy on them. Also having loads of kids, people in the west also have shit loads. That is the fault of he individual being a moron and not using protection, again often caused by religion sticking their noses into places they don't belong (ie health). Also having lots of kids in Africa countries is mostly due to the infant mortality rate, sadly. Hopefully as conditions improve over there people will try to have less kids, because they are more likely to survive birth.
Lets be honest about this. Many cultural traditions are left over from religion. Christmas in England isn't about Christianity any more (hell most places don't call it Christmas any more!) it's become a tradition. Same for Easter holidays. Same for having everywhere close on a Sunday evening (worst tradition of all time!). Same for Christenings.
None of them have any real basis in logic, and probably should be phased out. But at least they aren't fucking up a child's life because of it (cept Christenings if the kid is forced to continue going to Church). Cultures are even less defensible that Religions. Hey kid do this, why? Because I did it when I was a kid! Worst logic ever.
