I alwayz see it as someone who is really sensitive, gets depressed easily. likes to express themselves you know with music and poetry. They tend to feel like the world is against them because of what they do and such. They tend to dress very casually, sometimes none caring.

Emo or emocore is a subgenre of punk rock music. Use of the term (and which musicians should be so classified) has been the subject of much debate.
In its original incarnation, the term "emo" was used to describe the music of the mid-1980s DC scene and its associated bands. In later years, the term "emo-core", short for "emotional hardcore", was also used to describe the DC scene. The term "emo" was derived from the fact that, on occasion, members of a band would become spontaneously and literally emotional during performances. lol most emos hate themselves anyways. All the emos ive known are the kids who arent "Metal" enough to enjoy hard rock, but arent deviant enough to enjoy goth / screamcore. So they sit in the middle crying about how "No body understands me!!!!" and "I should shoot myself coz i missed the bus".

Emos basically wear VERY tight clothes, all the emo girls say there bi when there not, all emo lads kiss eachother and take pics but are all straight. They cry about there pathetic little life when the slightest thing goes wrong and threaten suicide as if people care. They often cut themselves and write poetry about guns to heads, bleeding, hearts, bleeding hearts and dying. They have badly died jet black hair which covers one eye, and several facial piercings

Hippies in theory are the same but they are happy, don't really threaten sucide like an emo does. They don't slit wrists.Hippes are known to care for the environments and world peace and freewill, they actually care about other people. Not just themselves. Emos don't care about this, all they care about is their own little world and that the whole world is against them.

emo's are funny, they sit there crying about the smallest thing. "omg no more toilet roll im gonna cry and slit my wrists". there lazy pieces of crap that are either too stupid or lazy to do summit with their life.

My opinion is:
Emo isn't an actual real word. Another intterperation for emo is emotional. All songs change your emotions. Maybe a spanish song makes you feel glad, or a metal song may make you feel energetic. It depends on how you respond. So in a sense the word "emo" is an understatement for the way we use it today.
I could say Jazz is emo. It's true, it has a claming effect (On me) and i like listening to it on days when i'm angry or just to relax and chill a little more. So if you say emo to me it just means the song changes your mood...but all songs do that
that's just my opinion anyway.

Emo's usually dress in semi-goth attire with....eye liner (boys wear it >_<) and look like complete fags cause they think everyone's against them; they're "down with the scene" with their haircuts that are cut short on one side and purposely long on the other, with sometimes spiked in the back. They give goths a bad name cause goths HAVE a fashion sense
