I'd think more people would loose faith than gain it. Depending on the type of apocalypse anyway. Many more would probably kill themselves to avoid the pain of whatever way everyone else will die. Probably anyone with young kids will want to spare them it.
But yeah, it's a case of raging against the inevitable. People realise how pointless 90% of their lives is and can't handle it. Work would instantly go right out the window, so would family and kids, anything that is not instant gratification would be pointless because there would be no reason to invest for a future pay-off.
