ferox is a hybrid turret boat...its also a tier 1 battlecruiser where the drake is a tier 2...a drake is better in a gang as it has a huge tank and will take most of the damage while your gang members do some damage.
Wouldn't a Drake with Heavy Assault Launchers II do more DPS than a Ferox with Hybrids?
according to EFT a drake does 89 DPS and a ferox does 127 DPS...i dont have many missile skills and my gunnery skills are terrible.
Whats EFT? It's it like EVEMon? If so link it to me please.

EFT, Eve fitting tool. it allows you to fit out ships and see their damage output and their shield amount and stuff. really useful

Using the fitting I was planning on using on my alt I would have 331 DPS (2k4 volley) 102k effective shields, 100km targetting and 64/72/79/82 shields (using invul, could do better for mission specific dmg) with 331 shield tank.

Most could be swapped to T1/named for easy fit but I'd say it's a pretty nice setup :p
As for your cruiser setup, I'd try to say clear of LSE on a cruiser, they make your sig radius pretty big which is a bad thing on a cruiser. Try maybe one for some buffer then some hardeners (specific to mission) and maybe a cap recharger.
Oh and it's a good idea to get EveMon as well as EFT, it will help you plan your skills a lot better to avoid downtime etc.

Most Caldari ships get their full potential when in a group. I'm actually going for small and faster ships, probably Hawk or Crow. Any suggestions?
crow is the fastest ship in the game...it just needs 9 billion to get there
