Erm. my Mom told me that the kids who JUST went up to year 7 this year have to stay in school until they're 17 and that goes for everyone else younger than them.
Just wanted to check if it's true?
If so, good, my bitch of a cousin stays in.

Yes it true in england, should go up to 18 though
huh year 7, you ment grade 7?
and i dont think its true in USA o.o
In England it's referred to YEAR 7 rather than GRADE 7. That's just how things are I suppose :P
But yeah, staying in school until you're 17 will at least increase the percentage of the graduation rates, if people plan on being something. But most people normally graduate from high school around the age of 17 (Unless you get flunked, start school early or late).
Just means all the ppl who fck around in class, get to stay another year and mess around even more. The kids who want to learn, would have stayed anyway. Wales aint got this yet, hope they dont bring it over either.
Thats in America too isn't it?
You can't just drop out of school while underage can you?
No, it America you can drop out at the age of 16.
They're trying to make the drop out age 18.. Which would basically mean you can't drop out unless you flunk like 4 times, lol.
I think it's a bad idea and a good idea at the same time - as per usual you'll have people who don't want to learn and just muck around and do stupid shit in class whilst distracting other people who actually want to learn - it's affecting the peoples education who actually want to learn but now they'll be distracted by others who just want to fool around for an extra year or whatever.
In Canada it's different you can drop out of school at 16 years of age
Do you live in england? Because i think i've seen that while i was there
Seeing that he referred to his grade as Year 7 rather than 7th Grade, I have high thoughts that he is from England.
I think it sohuld be 18 around the world so at least
You can try to make them learn something
went to Univ at 16 ^^ (I went to school before legal age :D)
>.> zZz, 5.30am , Good night :D
We were debating on this in college the other day, the way I see it is, well in my old school if people were forced to stay on there'd just be shit loads of disruptions, but they can still just go on to do apprenticeships rather than stay on to sixth form/college.
Thanks guys for your feedback.
I was expecting either no posts or flaming.
yea well in the US you have to stay in high school till the age of 16 then you can drop out. till then no matter how much times you fail your stuck. ha. i guess they try to give the screw ups time to see if they realize how much school is important.
dunno really
some people i know have suited just going straight into work rather than more education.
im staying in education until im 21 lol
Much better than most drying out the taxpayers money and getting pregnant.
First I've heard of this. I think it's good, and bad. I dropped out of school at 16 (England) and went onto College.
I have all my GCSE's.
If your staying on until your 17, what much more are you going to achieve? :s
