From when I was a kid:
Public Enemy Number 2, , Stormbreaker, Granny, (<--basically anything) by Anthony Horowitz.
The Electric Kid by Garry Kilworth

Nowadays I regetabally haven't read many books. Best I can come up with is:
Of Mice & Men by John Steinbeck

Planning to read 1984 by George Orwell after I've finished Flood by Richard Doyle.
