Figure it out!

I have tried to figure this out for 2 hours and got no where, 10 people, outside my house, all friends and 1 of the guys came by we dont know who the hell he is and he asked us to figure out something and we tried for 2 hours straight and got no where with it.

this is what you must do:

You have 10 Birds and you have 9 Cages, the question here is, HOW do you stick the 10 birds in their very own cage?

this is what we came up.

a). Stick 1st and 2nd bird in 1st cage
b). Stick 3nd bird in 2nd cage
c). Stick 4th bird in 3rd cage
d). Stick 5th bird in 4th cage
e). Stick 6th bird in 5th cage
f). Stick 7th bird in 6th cage
g). Stick 8th bird in 7th cage
h). Stick 9th bird in 8th cage
i). Take the bird from the 1st cage which has the 2 birds in it and place the bird on the final cage which is the 9th cage.

Now, all 10 birds fit in 9 cages THEORETICALLY, do this PRACTICALLY and it wont work.

The question is, WHY?

try to figure it out, post your findings.

oO i don't think so...it says 10 birds then its 10 birds, secondly u have 9 cages wich is only 9 cages doesn't matter if u start counting on 0 or 1...i say it's impossible both in theory and pratically :P unless u eat one of them

nvm you were talking about the solution they came too ye your right in their solution they only use 9 birds

haha i've done this one before... tho its almost impossible to work out without drawing diagrams.
if i have time i'll redo it (if i remember how) ad i'll scan the diagram :)

its only 9 birds cos it looks like you add 1 at the end so it makes 10
