The cities are just like any other city. You only really get what you're talking about in towns out in the middle of nowhere, such as my hometown. Ranches and crops surrounding the entire town, but even then you rarely see horses on the road. If you see anything its just large tractors.
Austin is probably one of the best party cities. The music scene in Austin is fucking amazing.

Yeah that's what I figured. Cities like Austin, Dallas, and Houston are probably like the rest of the big cities in US, right? It would still be cool to explore outside of the bigger cities because I actually love the whole southern culture, but haven't experienced it enough yet. Austin seems awesome. That's where SXSW is held right? Would really love to go to that sometime.

Yep, SXSW and ACL are both awesome to go to.
You don't really get a lot of southern culture in Texas. Even the small towns which have a lot of agriculture going on aren't really what you would expect. The most "southern" styled thing in my home town is a Texas old-western styled souvenir shop right off the highway to attract all the tourists. Other than that, its anything you'd expect from anywhere else. Steakhouses and BBQ restaurants everywhere, though. And don't try going to Applebee's on a church night or on the weekend. You'll be waiting for a hour in line just to sit down.

Yeah, Texas seems pretty up-to-date. States like Missouri, Mississippi, Louisiana I imagine have a few areas that are stuck in the south of the 20th century.
Wait... people actually go to Applebee's when Texas is pretty much home to BBQ houses?

Yep, for some strange reason. I think its gross, but a lot of people love it. I really don't understand why.
Re: First meeting of a RZ member
@Madison I live in Tennessee now, so better weather than Missouri, but yes very serious about hosting a USA Ragecamp. There is plenty of space to camp out on, got a few horses too and a pony. @exclamatio among others joked about Ragejoust lol
Re: First meeting of a RZ member
I could never live in Texas. If I were to share my political views over there, I would get killed...

I've been here 3 years, who knows about the never leaving part yet. I moved here intending to stay for a while. But I don't really have a family or anything keeping me here really besides my job.

That's probably true. Tennessee is a bit further too (depends on where exactly) more like 9-10 hours in a car, or 1.5 by plane..

LOL, yeah right. Maybe, just maybe those people exist somewhere in this state. In DFW, it is rumored there are some in Ft. Worth, but I have only seen people who 'dress' the part there. Montana has cowboys too, so its not like some special unique Texas thing.

I can't figure that one out either, crapplebees is popular, so its chilli's, tgi fridays, etc. The food is just reheated food, its not good.
Not all of the BBQ places are great either, but there are some good ones.
And what about the Mexican and Tex-Mex food. Oh so much good food. (and a lot of not good food)

Oh ok, I guess Facebook said something else. I've been to Missouri not to Tennessee, so for that reason Tennessee is better.

Wander far enough in any direction in a dry, southern state (New Mexico, Arizona, Texas) and you're bound to find some scary shit that could kill you. Whether that be snakes, scorpions, bobcats, or crazy racist white men.
