"MCR fo' life" - Is what I think he's suggesting.
let the tattooist print "i am free" in large font on your back. Why not? That's what you wanted to be defined as, amirite? And as someone suggested - a butterfly - ye that will do, it's inique and uniqueness is an exquisite attribute, indeed. Or print a full lenght shoulder-to-fist picture on either of your arms, or both of them, it represents freedom in particullar, I believe, plus you will look as if you're motaro in mortal combat - totally awesome, plus you have 4 arms!
P.s. Don't put the blame on me afterwards.

:D Tribal tatoo the best!
Got my first tattoo a week ago covering my forearm (after like 2 years of deciding). I didn't feel like getting something that had a specific meaning or thought behind it, I just felt like getting something artistic.
So far old people who generally hate tattoos, likes mine, even people I've never seen in my life comments on it, so far I'm happy ^^
I don't agree with people getting tribal tattoos, I think it's rather patronising, they are all meant to mean something to tribes, and random people getting them because it's cool is rather insulting. I'm not part of a tribe, so why would I get a tribal tattoo?
do some tribal or something ... maybe a Zodiac symbol
Why get a tattoo at all then?
Tattoos were original used to show tribal rank, status, hunting ability, and so on in all the oldest tribes around the world. Different markings/placing for different tasks completed. They weren't for an artistic show like they are today, and one only got one when he had done something worth it.
Which is still true among many tribes around the world. But to normal people like me and you, we don't do it for that reason.
Why do most people get them now?
The older people that are more into it do it to tell the story of their life, where they've been, what they've done, challenges they've overcome.
Other than that, purely for an artistic reason. But clearly not anything for showing ones status. ( Except in some gangs and what not. )
Although you can still go get one in a modern day shop where some of the tribes people have come. They'll normally ask you a few questions about your life, and so on. Then come up with a design that they feel fits properly.
So... why not get a tribal tattoo?
I don't see why it's insulting. Not many people ever get EXACTLY what tribes use. And most of the time the meaning of "tribal" in art, mainly means designs found throughout the world by certain tribes. The main and most popular type of "tribal" art are looping sharp arrow types. Such as

But the designs are normally made up by the artist or one getting the tattoo, and do not have any real tribal meaning or significance. But some still follow a guide as to what some of the loops, or arrows, or direction and all that.
I don't agree with this tattoo because they are only something for damage our body...the body that God created...
And the great part about your statement is.... unless you know the actual tribe's language... you have no proof what they design means what they say it means. It's like Chinese letters and/or words. Quite a few people have gotten the wrong tattoo because they were told it meant something else. :w00t:
