We want to set a sign for freedom and show our sympathy for these people who are fighting their cruel regime without weapons. These Bloggers are planning to refrain from posting to their blogs on October 4 and just put up one Banner then, underlined with the words

Its always nice to show support of some form, but you gotta be careful with the way you do it because people will simply think your taking the piss. Especially those with family's there, or those who have experience in war and captivity.
Attaching E-blogs to yourself and trying to get everyone else to do it thinking it will improve a situation is just living in ignorance. War doesn't stop for anyone, war stops its self.
Spreading this message can cause more people to become aware of the problems in that country. That won't directly remedy the problem, but it's not a bad thing to do, and it's not completely useless.
