I understand most of it, you're 13 and you're sexually curious. If you feel like trying it then go ahead.
But I find it hilarious that a 13 year old says he's bi. You probably haven't even hit puberty yet. There's no way you can call yourself "bi" or "gay" yet. Give it a few years. Your friend is probably just curious as well, since I doubt either of you have tried intercourse with either sex.

Because they constantly incorporate sex into the equation, not thinking outside of the box. Whereas sex at that young of an age really has nothing to do with it. How someone would know, I'd assume, is if you find yourself being more attracted to one sex, rather than another.
