Ok i get the fact that hitting a baby is very bad and pathetic, but what i dont get is the article says white so it must be racist, yet if it was a black teenager hitting a white child it would be classed taht the black man was under influence, im not racist its just teh fact that nowadays a white kid could start a fight on "coloured" kid and it would be racist, yet a coloured kid can hit a white kid and it would be called self defence.

I can't really comment on that, since we don't have many "coloured" (that word doesen't sound that good) people down here, but i know that people are quick to judge when it comes to stuff like that.When i say i don't like an artist that is black, im suddently a racist

This sort of thing happens every day, probably once every 8 minutes (or whatever, I'm not going to google for 'beaten baby' statistics, who KNOWS what sites I'll turn up! :yuk:) - it is not reasonable to expect anyone to feel bad about every single one of THOSE victims, you just have this reaction now because it's been thrust into your view.. but the bottom line is, if you have no control over something, then you should not waste any emotion or worry or anger on it.. instead we should just work on avoiding anything like that in our own lives and the lives of those we love.. many more hideous and inhumane things are done to all different people all the time, in the name of a multitude of religions or cultures or simply because someone is a headcase or on the bottle..

By saying that, you just lowered yourself to his level.. in a manner of speaking.. Instead of simply becoming incensed about something which has already happened which we have no control over, we should ask WHY this has happened and do what we can to prevent it.. in this case something to do with substance abuse education, stricter regulations on alcohol/other drugs, better mental health support systems, encouraging acceptance of diversity, something like that..
