I've been in that same exact situation, where the girl cheated on me with every tom, dick and harry. Then she would bad talk me whenever she was with them, but when she was away from them, it was the total opposite. I learned that chicks like that are simply attention whores. They thrive to be the center of attention, especially when it's people who are emotionally involved. My advice is don't even bother going there to get the gifts. Have her mail them. If you go, there is a good chance she could be setting you up to get jumped. It happened to me, and it turns out, the police did jack shit about it. I didn't have any witnesses to it so it was her word against mine, and she had more people saying she wasn't there than I had saying she was. You see what I'm saying? It's just not worth it man. Mike, listen - I consulted with a mate of mine who is a Detective, this is EXACTLY what you should do:
Go to the Police, and tell them that you are picking up your stuff from an ex-girlfriend, however she has threatened both yourself and your family's property, so you want a Police escort to be on the scene. This way in case she ever decides to do anything to your grandparents property in the future, it will already be on file that she made threats.
They will dispatch a Police officer to meet you at your grandparents house, so that nothing will go wrong. They will oversee that you get your things back, and if anything there is broken, they will also be able to verify that they were broken when you got them. This is important in case anything in the future ever appears ; You will have the word of a Police officer on your side, so she will not be able to make any accusations.

People do not realize that the Police work FOR you. YOUR taxes pay for them, call them up and they are more than happy to come out and help. It could be nothing at all, but they would much rather come around and make sure everything is OK, than be called to the scene later on because something went wrong.
Please do not listen to the people who complain about cops just hassling them and not wanting to help at all; it is clear that those people have had run-ins with the law and are basing their judgments on that. Either that or they are just miss-informed.
