Well i don't think its suppost to be in this section but oh well here it goes..
I have a virus which is caused by Msn. it randomly sends files to every contact online on msn. And i can't control my msn while this is going on. just wanted to see if anyone else has this very annoying virus. Because Ive heard its going round very quickly.
Please reply if you know anything about it

Virus scan, Spybot Search & Destroy, Ad-Aware. They are your friends
Done everything.Ive tryed every single Virus scan possible to internet. It found the virus and deleted it but then it comes back :/ and ive tryed rebooting,Re-Installing Msn and nothing works :/

Sounds like a worm or something, if you can find out the file name of it, google it and check a trustworthy site for information about it.
Last option : reformat!

Well in my Windows Folder i looked in there there ain't just 1 file theres about 20 odd. and the titles are of some of them *downloadme2* *info22* and it sends those files to my contacts. Ive deleted the files out of Windows folder and they keep coming back. but i just deleted them again and they haven't come back yet so fingers crossed :1:
Sounds like the one Ramurthra's brother had that kept sending me some random "Cool Vacation Photos".rar or something
then it was (2 minutes later) Pics of My New Job...
I never downloaded it :)
Start Menu > Run > msconfig > startup(tab)
untick the names of the virus/whatever
after that, boot in Safe mode & do virus scans etc..
You make it sound like that's a bad thing :P It takes like 30 mins to format while searching for a "cure" could take hours. And if you save your user profile you wont even feel the difference :)Originally Posted by Dandune

I simply don't have the patience to deal with a virus like that. I never get viruses or anything of the sort so if I ever did I would just format. No point fixing something when you can get rid of it for good.
Well this is the first virus i have had for a long time. So was a bit of a shock to me :P well it wasn't really a virus because a real virus infects your whole Computer not just Msn but i guess we can call this the "Msn Virus" :p
Sam if by some bad luck the virus isn't sorted make sure you try Dandune's idea as its most likely to work. Virus scanning while your PC is in safemode is much better for serious cases because that way you can pick up viruses your PC wouldn't have found while it was in "normal mode".
I did do dandune's idea and i looked threw and couldn't find the virus files. And the virus hasn't kicked in for a long time. So hopefully its totally gone not just partly lol

Yes I have, infact I had actually accepted it without extracting it and scanned the .exe It had 16 different variations of viruses in it (worms, malware, trojans) and so now I have this thing sitting on my computer, which I'm planning on deleteing though I could always use it on someone I hate

Again......you have to reformat your computer, safemode is only partly gone, it's still multiplying on your comp

This has been around forever...you got it by accepting a file from a friend... You need to be careful next time you accept a file form somebody.

Yeh I got it from this girl lol She didn't even know she had the virus and the title of the file was *look at this picture of you*. So i accepted it thinking it was a picture of me.

I had this a few years ago all i did is system restore to a few days before i got it, that got rid of it for me
