Everyone is sleeping, the dude pulls out a butchers knife, and sticks it in the victims throat. The victim wakes up screams, knife comes out, goes in again...people hear the screams, they wake up...by that time it came in and out 3-5 times. How many stabs to the neck does it take to kill a person? 1.
There is no way they could have saved him...they did the best thing which was evacuate and trap the suspect. Causing only 1 fatality.
If anyone interfered there would have been more.

I really doubt that, difference between a stab and a slice by the way. The neck has nothing protecting it really, so a butchers knife with force would pierce the whole thing.
Also depends on the amount of time it takes for the person to be looked after, huge loss of blood, seeing how the biggest arteries go through there.
Either way my point still stands, helping him would be no good, because it was already too late.
As for the reason why, I can only think that he will go with a defense along the lines of hallucination...because it would fit perfectly, and there is a very low chance he's going to do ANY jail time...most likely just going to go to a mental institution or something.

Yeah I'm currently in Canada and the murder was like 30 mins away from us if that. Apparently my Dad said he heard that while he was hacking the guys head of he was eating chunks from the guy, now that is fucked up.
