uh I don't know what trigger happy mod deleted my post or why they felt the need but does anyone have a link to anything about the UK pulling out our doctors?
Yea, I was wondering the same. I was just actually in the process of going into this thread to reply to it. Well, I was wrong. I apologize to any UK residents that may have been offended by that. It wasn't the UK. When I heard it on TV, I mistook them saying UN for UK. My son had just woken up when it was being reported. It was actually Belgium that pulled their doctors and nurses because of "security reasons". To me, that is complete BS. There are people there, dying, and you pull your doctors and nurses, yet CNNs' own doctor stays by himself... seems kinda fucked up, don't you agree?

I gladly can not see jMerlin's posts since i put him on ignore, however from the posts of his which have been quoted... This thread has turned into a Merlin VS everyone else debate and the topic is "It is the people of Haiti's fault that they got hit by a natural disaster". Not only am i wondering why this has been allowed to continue, but also why he's still allowed to be posting at all. SpottedCow got banned for being a troll, but Merlin is allowed to continue? Just because he uses proper sentence structure and grammar does not make him any different.
Ok so we had a few disagreements in the Hardware section which got sorted out, but these 2 Haiti related threads have made me totally loath him beyond anyone else on this entire forum.
You can walk into a daycare and shoot a 2 year old child right in the face at point-blank range, and jMerlin will still debate about how much that infant deserved it for being ignorant and how he could have avoided that outcome. Really, can someone do something about him?

Oh come on. Even I wouldn't go that far.
You'd scare all of the other kids, you have to take him out back first.
No no no, j/k, that's horrible. I wasn't explicitly trying to troll anyone. I did not just say "meh, it's just an earthquake, who cares." I qualified my stance which was in direct opposition to that of most posters because a grieving thread and a thread where everyone agrees is just plain boring, if everyone agrees on something, it doesn't need to be said nor be a thread. I gave an example, a bit more direct, about people building a town at the base of an active volcano. It's not because that's unheard-of, I have seen a documentary on Discovery where people DID build a town at the base of an active volcano and from time to time (not spanning decades or centuries, rather a few years) it erupts and destroys a part of the village which is later re-built. The people on the video usually say it's fine, they can get out of the way because lava generally moves slowly, and rebuilding isn't a problem because they love living there. People USUALLY don't get hurt, but they DO NOT EXPECT people to have sympathy for their losses, because they know full well that living there incurs a very steep penalty: your shit will eventually get burned down. If that volcano went apeshit and killed some people there or wiped out the entire city, that's unfortunate to be sure, but that's a risk they're willing to take and equate that to gambling, when you take risks and you lose big, you shouldn't expect someone to bail you out.
Haiti is a bit different, and I don't disagree, but I do believe that an area which has demonstrated in the past to have ground which is volatile and prone to earthquakes (even if they are centuries inbetween), that people who still choose to establish their home there, and have children there, despite knowing that (surely they aren't all ignorant to the fact, we've had earthquakes in haiti before), they're willing to take a risk. For those who simply cannot leave for one reason or another, I do have sympathy for them, and for children who had absolutely no choice in the matter. I saw a video of a school on TV with kids sitting out talking about their friends who died inside when it collapsed and I couldn't bear to watch it. They didn't do anything wrong, they couldn't leave if they wanted to, and they probably don't know anything about earthquakes but they died anyway.
In short, I'm not trying to troll here, I'm just presenting a different perspective. Would you prefer a board where everyone agreed about everything, never had even a debatable or controversial stance on something, and most posts spiraled into pretty much saying what the previous 20 posts said? I don't believe that anyone would find such a place even slightly interesting.
I've been a mod for over 5 years for a reason. People like you and jMerliN come and go. Sure you've been members for a while, but you haven't been active that whole time. I'm not going to change my modding style just because some members piss and moan about a post being deleted.
You asked why it was deleted, and I gave you a reason.
Deal with it.
Just finished reading an article about Haiti
saying that help is getting there but slowly. Because of fear that they might attack the car with the supply's.
Also, alot of people still have not received water or food. And theres alot of desperate people wiling to assault for food.

I can understand that, but them slowing down the process isn't going to help anyone. The people are in that frenzy state because they don't have food or anything.
I just heard they had ANOTHER earthquake. I'm not sure if that's true.
Edit:
Its was not a Earthquake it was a after shock
6.1 magnitude.
