the kid had a violent reaction to a video game, pretty sad though since his parents couldn't judge whether or not he could handle halo3. They will blame Microsoft, but its the kids fault for doing what he did.

The kid wasn't mentally unstable because of the game, the game was merely a prop in the whole situation.

It's sad what video games can do to somone, although it's also the parents falt, as they should have regulated his game time, etc when he was younger.

poor parenting, lack of emotional attachments, chemical instability, stress, poor manorisim, all this could be the real reason the kid shot his parents for halo 3. I think probably a lack of time management or a lack of control on his emotions triggered this epic fail of family bonding.

In my oppinion, what that teenager did was atrocious. And so is the beating children idea. Im glad i live in australia...

The fact the source says Halo 3 is violent is a bit of an overstatement, there's games worse than a futuristic game where you fight aliens.
More to the point, all that over a game? Some people really shouldn't be allowed to interact with the outside world if they'll kill someone over something as stupid as a game.
And the thing is he never got to play the game.
