help..

friend irl is programming this game hes been working on it for a few months know and has allot of stuff which is of value to him.

Today he had a problem with his harddrive, when he boots it , its not being detected but it detects his dvd ...

hes tried everything and still no luck.

Any advice for him?

Get another hard drive and set that to the master and leave the other as a slave. Boot it up then and see if you can read the files from the other HD..... If he can i suggest backing up ALL the work hes been doing.

Only problem is getting a 'spare' hard drive lol

Hmm, has he tried using new ide cables, could be a fault in them, or try it on a different comp. Otherwise it dont sound good

If that all don't work let him go to a good computer store, tell them that they need to get the info from the harddrive.

Get a Hard-Disk recoverer program.

I also had this problem. One of the wires had melted so it wasn't detecting it. I suggest you take it out and CHECK the hard disk and the surrounding areas of it. You never know, it may just do the trick.

lol when mine fucked i was gonna do this but i had lots and lots of porn on so :D

I remember when my comp was fucked and that my brother did my computer.... so he needed to check if it all worked so he went to my shared folder off KaZaA to check if video files worked lol.

Oh well i really don't care, i know he has porn on his comp, i know my other brother has, i even know my dad got porn on his comp, i really don't care...
