Though I wouldn't call Amanda Todd an angel, inspiration is fairly accurate as she has inspired many people into action against bullying. If everyone at school is talking about sex and stuff, then it might not seem like a big thing to flash. I guess it's more of a liberal vs conservative discussion that.
People calling her a role model however need to stop. Likewise you implying Paris is a role model. Neither are anywhere near what we should be telling kids who to be like. But alas the people they should be like rarely make anywhere near the public domain. They are far too busy in labs and universities, or hospitals, or saving lives in other countries, etc etc etc. Sex sells, and real role models just aren't sexy enough to talk about.
A young dumb girl who found herself eventually in a position she could no longer cope with and by then felt like there was no way out. There was no "support" in place before it got to this point and none that caught her before she took her life. Of course she is more well known than the many others who feel it is necessary to take their own lives when their own individual story becomes to much to bear, but her "fame" is merely a reflection of our own culture.
If you are unhappy at this 1 being an example (likely because she is a "pretty" young girl) and not who you decide should be getting the attention then why not proactively lead as an example and do your bit to influence and change culture.
Bullying should never be trivialised, regardless of who is being bullied. There is much to it and it is rarely clean cut black and white but we must be secure in ourselves enough to be sure of our actions and to not let the petty controlling games of others effect us, recognise those who need help and offer it freely but also have compassion for the bullies who always act from fear and rarely realise the consequences of their actions.
