How fast can you type?

So about 2 weeks ago, I went for a job interview and I happened to be required to fill in, in an application form on how many word I can type which I had never ever noticed. I simply put 40+ words per/mins, which is like the least possibility number I can go which I'm so regretting over it now >_<.. Now kind of think of it, it is important to know how fast I can type and I'm warning everyone to learn how well you can before going for your job interview next time or regret like me.
I think I could had wrote 80 words per/min on the application form, but my fingers goes exhausted relatively quick at such a pace. I was told that lying on the application form can be as serious as getting fined from the company, at a 50% cost of the damages/problems the company suffered, thus I didn't risked ._.


So how fast can 1 type be considered fast? What do you think?

...a minute? i guess 60 words a minute is fast, one word per second is relatively fast on the average i think...

well tbh idk how many words per minute I can write but I'd say anywhere from 40 to 80? Who knows maybe more I can type really fast if I want to for a good while without looking down at the keys but at the screen to correct any typo's :P

depends really, if it is from my own head, then i can write pretty fast,
but if it is asking me to copy something, then it is slow.

40 is like very slow, I heard a regular email support of a certain office must be a able to type 60 words per min at least.
40 and 80 are like to different groups of typist.

We do it in letters, I can do 340 - + about in a min roughly if I'm. Average about 300 though.

In Spanish I can type at the speed of lightning. I never tested how many but I can certainly type 80 a minute. But in English I can type like 40 and sometimes I have to wait and re read to make sure people will get what I mean.

Last time I had such test I was at 120-140 wpm .. I didn't really notice, I just typed like I normally do, so lol.
