how old is your keyboard?

im sitting here looking at my beautifuly set out, food and drink encrusted keyboard thinking about how many types of cancer you could probably catch just by typing on it...

my keyboard is my oldest piece of computer equipment, it was my 1st pc keyboard and i love it to bits

i 1st used it when i got my very 1st pc of the "tiny" brand quite a few years ago at an estimate id say that was about 8 years ago, maybe a little less

ive gone through monitors, mice, towers, mother boards, speakers, headsets etcetc but my keyboard has never once failed me, unless you count clenliness

this keybaord has seen and tasted more food than any other keybaord in the world, and i love it.

just got a laptop so trying to get used to this keyboard, but its just not the same the keys are too flat >_< and i keep pressing enter instead of backspace while using msn which is getting anoying

My old keyboard also is turning to yellow, i use it when some reason usb does not work and need use ps2 keyb's...

Currently i have Ligitech Cordless Desktop LX700 + Logitech 1000MX mouse :D..

I cleaned mine about 2 weeks ago It&#180;s 3 Years old...
I spilled a full cup of coffe in it and it was disgusting
I found a lot of hair =O
cookies,chips,bread,etc... crumbles
A piece of bacon O.o
and Dust obviosly
Now it&#180;s white and the "A" works fine again

Ummmm..... My home PC's keyboard is pretty new (for me). Getting near a tear old now and I miss it for the buttons above the number pad that lets me go straight to "My Computer" or "Calculator" or make my PC "sleep".

But my cousin used to own that keyboard so it's probably A LOT older that what I've jus stated.

lolz...my keyboard looks brand new and its about 4 years old =P never spilled a single drop of anything on it :D its got like 100 buttons a regular keyboard doesn't have :P

This one is from last November. My old one (which my sister stole) that is just like this one is from 2003. The one my mother has (which she stole) is from 2000. Why in the hell do people steal my keybaords. >.<

Broke the keyboard that came with my PC about 4 months ago. Bought a crappy Genius brand keyboard for &#163;10 to take its place. The only piece of equipment that's held out on my PC over the past 2 years has been my optical mouse :D (which the shop gave me by mistake when I bought the PC lol).

The one I had in my home pc was from our old 286, so I don't think I'm lying if I claim it's about 15 years old. In my new pc (which I'm on right now) I had a keyboard from '97 until very late. Had an accident with the ancient keyboard so I bought a new one for myself and took the '97 keyboard home. Less than a month later a drunken friend spilled a full bottle of beer on my almost branny keyboard and it just wouldn't function anymore, so my current one is 1-2 months old tops.

The oldest keyboard I bet had been white or light gray at some point, but before it was taken out of use it had already reached a delighting coffee-color and wrinkles. The 2nd keyboard is still quite good in color and due to frequent openings & cleanings it doesn't have much stuff inside, either. However the numpad enter and '+' are detached, although still pretending to be in place.

Ex it seems you did some good observation about keyboard ages ;).

My lap top has been going strong for 5 years.... with gaming and all :D

only had to change the charging unit thingy, HDD and motherboard once.

I really like this keyboard to because it's soft so it's easier to type

My friend has this keyboard from microsoft also and it has a detachable faceplate.

So u can have it set to warcraft, battlefield, counterstrike, and even photoshop keys :D

wow 15 years is pretty old, thats quite impressive

thinking back my keyboard is nearer to 9 or 10 years old as i remember having my 1st pc running windows 95 and not having my little brother who is currently 8

taking the age of a keyboard is a fine science that sadly not enough people study
