Had an accident with the ancient keyboard so I bought a new one for myself and took the '97 keyboard home. Less than a month later a drunken friend spilled a full bottle of beer on my almost branny keyboard and it just wouldn't function anymore, so my current one is 1-2 months old tops.
The oldest keyboard I bet had been white or light gray at some point, but before it was taken out of use it had already reached a delighting coffee-color and wrinkles. The 2nd keyboard is still quite good in color and due to frequent openings & cleanings it doesn't have much stuff inside, either. However the numpad enter and '+' are detached, although still pretending to be in place.
Ex it seems you did some good observation about keyboard ages ;).
