It doesn't stand for anything. Hence the number of variants they are called depending on the region. I have always called them Charvers, when I first heard the term Chav I didn't know what the person was referring to.

Since my best friend has moved to Scotland, and speaks about them a lot, I have come to think of them as Neds myself. I just think it's a funnier word, and makes me giggle in my head every time I think about it. Ned, hehehehe.

Chavs dress horrible. If they dress like that in America, they'll be made fun of nonstop.

- Hair is way too short (bald?).
- Shirt sucks. Wear clothes with brand names on them or at least a graphic.
- Wear fucking jeans, cargo pants, or at least shorts.
- Socks are hilarious. Wear ankle to short socks.
- Tennis shoes are horrible. Get some decent shoes.

Cultural differences I guess.

The only thing I like about them are their hats, but they're just OK.
