How about who can get the most new referrals, and they must be unique referrals? What about.. whoever can publicly advertise RaGEZONE, and I don't mean holding a sign up on a street. That's old and you've had people do it a few times now. That's all for now, I'll post more when I think of some.
Yes, You could always set up a ad server and people could put ads/links on their sites. This way you can track how many people have clicked through, you could also do referrals, or maybe you could do who ever gets RZ out to the biggest audience and gets evidence that they have done so.
I think advertising RZ is a stupid idea, because whoever needs RZ certainly is able to find it on google, and those who can't won't be missed.

How did you find RZ? Google? Not everyone knows what to search for. For all you or I know, someone that joins through advertisement could help a section a lot more than any current member. I don't see why anyone would be against it.
RZ is aimed at supplying server files, anyone that is interested in them will come to RZ sooner or later, usually sooner.
But not always. That's why I fail to see what harm could come of advertising. We get more retards? This forum is full of them already so it's not like anything would be different. :)

I never found RZ on a search engine, I had been developing browser games and ect. for over a year before some on told me about it,
I know many developers and people who now use ragezone that would never have found it if I never told them about it.
The best way to grow a community is through people not google. Unless you are willing to pay a lot of money for it:). RZ could have many many more developers and people who would use ragesone for it's intented purpose but the people don't even know about ragezone.
I still think we should have some type of recruiting competition, it needs to be worth while and not stupid, but fun and challenging at the same time.

Well, ok. I'm still not convinced, though. Even though I didn't come here via google, either, but I joined as a player rather than dev so I wouldn't have been missed anyhow. But then again, I did end up taking part in development, too...
To think of it, it may be that not many realize developing and hosting a private server is something they want to do before they accidentally enter a place where they see others do it, so I take my words back. It's actually not a bad idea to do some advertising, but whether this compo is the right way to reach any new people at all, I don't know. Plus the target audience must be carefully selected.

I think a competition advertising ragezone is interesting

or mu server files or whatever ragezone is in there.. advertisement is defiantly not needed
I like the mascot idea.. maybe we can dress up in some costume and record ourselfs in the street.
