they determined it (i think) when christ was killed thats why theres BC (before christ) and AC (after christ) they changed it to something elso though.
This is 2008 A.D. where A.D. stands for Anno Domini.
And years in the B.C. which stands for Before Christ are counted too.

0AD was as soon as Christ died.
1AD - 1 year after Christ died.
2AD - 2 year after Christ died.
So on.

AD started with the deaht of Christ.. not his birth... so basically there was never any count down....
Coz the time after the death of Christ was termed as AD, they considered all the time before that as B.C .... or summat nearly close to this .....
What the hell is OP talking about? They start counting from the time of jesus, since the main calender used today was put in place by pope gregory.

From that I'd assume 0AD/BC was when Jesus was born, give or take. Which makes sense as if it was the day he dies surely it would be BCD, before christs death...
It's from when he rose from the dead in the cave which he was buried wasn't it, not his actual death and not his actual birth?
Like Easter is bigger (more holier) than Good Friday, it would also make sense that way couldn't it, because the church says that he lives on through our hearts or something but we are eating the body when we eat the bread and drink the blood when we drink the wine, so doesn't that contradict him living on or something?

Yeah, i read and heard before, not from a dumbass source btw that Christ was born something like 4 A.D. (or one year around then), something a few years after A.D. anyway but I'd assume usually that they started to count the years A.D. after his death though.

No one knows exactly when Earth's created. So, I don't see anything wrong with A.D. and B.C.
We go by the Gregorian calendar developed by Dr. Lilius in the 1500's. If you don't want to call this period AD, call it CE (Common Era) instead. You can also use BCE (Before Common Era). Both are considered officially valid and are often used in history books.
The reason we use this calendar is because it properly accommodates for leap years, whereas other calendars are plagued with flaws in leap years. It is also easy enough for almost everyone to understand for any purpose, from basic scheduling to lunar phases.
And it aint slowing down any.
