Iran threatens to attack US Bases if war erupts with Israel!

^ numbers does not mean power . they could have 2 million men armies but they would be useless to a superpower that could just wipe them all out in a minute.

Manpower =/= power.

These days manpower means little to nothing. You probably wouldn't want to have troops on the ground anyway with warheads going off all over the place.

Plus it's not like training people to use guns is hard. That's generally the entire point of a gun, any idiot can use one, which also tends to be the problem with them too!


Oh and America probably didn't need anyone else in Afghanistan. Again the difference here is that America isn't attacking anyone, it is being attacked. The rest of NATO, and all the other countries with defensive pacts with America, have to help America if it is attacked. It isn't a matter for discussion like the invasion of Afghanistan was, where many countries disagreed so didn't get involved.

I wasn't speaking of 9/11, and that was a terrorist group not a country, so whatever point you were trying to make doesn't make sense.

This thread is about Iran attacking American bases. As in a country declaring war upon America.

As for America going down hill, I think you will find that the majority of the world is in recession currently. But they are still essentially on the top of the pile. They have a huge amount of resources at there disposal.

Plus iirc the last great depression America had, WW2 got them out of it. Wouldn't be at all surprised if it ended up helping them out in the long run...

Do you have any idea why WW1 or 2 were started? Probably not, so no idea why you are bringing them into this.

It's not my country, I just look at military spending can it's quite clear USA is ridiculously far ahead of everyone else.

America might be in debt, but let's think what Debt actually means. They owe other countries money, for which they have gained resources. If China went to war with USA, that debt would effectively be wiped, America would have gotten all that stuff for nothing. Debt isn't a bad thing if you don't have to pay it back.

We aren't talking about Israel attacking Iran, we are talking about Iran attacking USA military bases. Again I will post this link:

USA has no defensive pact with Israel. If Israel is attacked/attacks Iran, America could choose to join in, but they are under no obligation to do so (like those countries who have a defensive pact with America). Doing so would mean Irans allies would have to defend them, and thus it wouldn't be in Americas best interest to do so.

USA hasn't declared war on Iran. Sanctions are there to stop them doing shit they shouldn't be done, and it's undertaken by more than the USA alone. If they had declared war, again Irans allies would have something to say about that.

If ww3 is started, it won't be by the west's instigation. We have been through this before in the cold war, and we know mutually assured destruction is a bad thing. China and Russia have quite clearly said they won't stand for us attacking first, so we simply won't. But if you think the US will simply lie down and take its military bases getting bomb, that isn't going to happen.

Because it is a small step between a nuclear program and nuclear weapons. If a country is actively threatening America or it's defensive allies (if you threaten its allies, you threaten America!) then can you really blame them for not wanting them to have nuclear weapons?

There is no real reason for countries to need nuclear power. Hell Japan is actively getting rid of all its nuclear power stations. It's simply not an argument to be had, the only reason they want nuclear material is so they can weaponise it. The less countries that have these weapons, the better. They don't need them for defence, they already have China and Russia in defensive pacts. The only reason for Iran to have nuclear weapons is so they can attack countries with them.

As for country leaders? Do you really think they have that much power? They simply don't, for a law to be passed it has to be agreed upon by a LOT of people. Iirc the presidents biggest power is the ability to veto a law after it has been passed by congress. But I'm not an expert on US law, so don't quote me. My personal issue with world leaders is they are all ridiculously rich people, purely because to get elected you need a silly amount of money to campaign. But yeah it's pointless hating a single leader, when it's countless people supporting them from Senators or Financiers.
